Life is dull without colours. Colours have put life into motion. Imagine life without colours and it’s like breathing without oxygen, that in exaggerated premise of course.
Colours are often associated with emotions. There are bright and dull ones. The bright colours often represent vibrant and positive emotions; it’s more like of an upper. Dull colours however seem to denote a negative type of emotion; it’s more like of a downer.

In contrast to the colour white, which portrays cleanliness, purity and light, the colour black is filled with mixed signals. It is a mysterious colour that gives you a feeling of perspective and depth. Per definition, black is the colour for authority and power. It also implies submission (e.g. priests wear black to signify submission of them to God).

In fashion, the colour black is a highly popular colour and never runs out of trend. It’s stylish and a highly regarded colour since it makes people appear thinner. It is a good choice for bottoms. Unlike the colour white, it readily matches tops of any colour. Black is the easiest colour to play with in almost any type of style you want to wear.

It will easily stand out. However, black outfits could also be overriding since most outfits in the colour black are usually used and portrayed by some elements of evil like villains. It is common to us that most villains usually wear black.

Indeed, black is the most fashionable colour ever. There are a wide number of collections by famous designers that are displayed revolving on the colour black.

Unlike other colours, black doesn’t depend on fashion trends instead, the fashion trends and styles depend and almost always need this colour.

Before, black was considered a colour for mourning. That’s why people usually wear black during funerals. But now, the idea of wearing black has definitely changed. The colour is slowly making its way into different wears including bridal dresses. Some fashion experts say that women in black symbolize their submission to men.

The colour black has turned into a dominant colour. If before, may people do away from this colour, now, many have frequently used this colour. It’s close to be called to being a universal colour. Now, the colour black is not only limited to certain occasion and places but it could now be used almost anywhere at any time.

With the arrival of Prohibition in the ‘20s, women’s dresses became less modest – baring shoulders, legs and backs. It was also during this time that women started entering the workforce. With these two major changes on the rise, designer Coco Chanel dared to create a garment that was comfortable, versatile and confident. In 1926, she introduced the little black dress to the world. Calf-length, straight, made with crepe de chine and minimalist with only a few diagonal lines, the design was nicknamed “Chanel’s Ford” because it transcended social classes.

The Little Black dress was introduced by Coco Chanel in 1926 and it has continued to transcend fashion for decades. The LBD was first seen in Vogue, it was calf length, straight, and had a few simple lines. Called the “Chanel’s Ford”, it was simple, and available to all social classes. Ever since its introduction by Chanel it has continued to rise in popularity and other designers have taken this simple design and made it their own.
